Continuation of Zoning Ordinance Text Amendments – Code Clean-up
Steve Osguthorpe, Director, explained that, at the September 7, 2011 meeting, the Planning &
Zoning Commission considered all proposed text amendments recommended as part of the
2011 Code Clean-up proposal. The Commission recommended forwarding all proposed
changes to the Council, except for three sections, to which the Commission suggested
amendments and requested that the sections be returned to them for final review and
deliberation. The Sections pertained to (1) accounting for required freeboard above base flood
elevation in determining natural grade in flood plains; (2) the insertion of the Floor Area Ratio
language back into Section 4 changes, that was inadvertently deleted in the previous draft
before the Commission; and (3) the inclusion of care for adult/disabled individuals in the
provisions for family day care.
