RESOLUTION SETTING DATE OF PUBLIC HEARING ON
PROPOSED URBAN RENEWAL PLAN FOR THE AMENDMENT OF
THE SOUTH BELL URBAN RENEWAL AREA AND RENEWAL AREA NUMBER 5
FOR THE CITY OF AMES, IOWA
WHEREAS, at their meeting on September 8, 2026, Council Members directed
staff to institute the necessary steps to adopt an Urban Renewal Plan for the Amendment
of the South Bell Urban Renewal Area and Urban Renewal Area Number 5; and,
WHEREAS, staff has prepared a timeline for the adoption of the Urban Renewal
Plan for the Amendment of the South Bell Urban Renewal Area and Urban Renewal Area
Number 5, and the approval of the tax increment financing district; and,
WHEREAS, staff is requesting that the City Council set November 10, 2026, as
the date of public hearing to consider the adoption of the Urban Renewal Plan.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames,
Iowa, that the date of public hearing set as November 10, 2026, on the proposed Urban
Renewal Plan for the Amendment of the South Bell Urban Renewal Area and Urban
Renewal Area Number 5, is hereby approved.
ADOPTED THIS 13th day of October, 2026.
