RESOLUTION WAIVING PURCHASING POLICIES AND PROCEDURES
REQUIREMENT FOR FORMAL BIDDING
AND AWARDING A THREE-YEAR CONTRACT
FOR EMERSON SURESERVICE FOR POWER PLANT
FOR THE ELECTRIC SERVICES DEPARTMENT, CITY OF AMES, IOWA
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames,
Iowa, that the waiver of City purchasing policies and procedure requirements for
competitive bidding to award a three-year contract is hereby approved.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, as
follows:
Section One. Award of a three-year contract is made as follows:
Emerson Process Management Power & Water Solutions, Inc., of Tinley
Park, IL, for Emerson SureService for the Power Plant in the total amount
of $118,096, scheduled as follows:
• Year 1 - $36,078
• Year 2 - $40,288
• Year 3 - $41,730
Section Two. The City Manager and City Clerk are authorized to execute said
contract for and on behalf of the City of Ames, Iowa, and to affix the corporate seal
of the City thereto.
Section Three. All resolutions or orders or parts thereof in conflict herewith are
hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict.
ADOPTED THIS 13th day of October, 2026.
