COMMISSION ON THE ARTS
September 10, 2012
The meeting was called to order at 5:02 p.m. by Chair Fred Lewis. Members present
were Christopher Sutch, Joel Jacobsen, Andrew Zehr (arrived late at 5:30), and Craig
Zywicki.
SPRING SPECIAL GRANT WORKSHOP / ANNUAL GRANT WORKSHOP
Organizations Present and meeting the requirement to apply for grants were :
• Ames Chamber Artists
• Ames Children's Choir
• Ames Choral Society
• Ames Town and Gown Chamber Association
• Ames Community Arts Council
• Ames Community Theater
• Ames Children's Theater
• Story Theater Company
• Ames International Orchestra Festival
• Friends of Ames Strings
• Central Iowa Symphony
• Co’Motion
• Kids Co’Motion
• Women in Motion
• India Cultural Association
• Octagon Center for the Arts
Melissa Mundt, Assistant City Manager, reviewed for the Commission and the
organization in attendance the grant documents and allowed for questions from the
group.
Public Forum
None
Approval of Minutes
Moved by Zehr and seconded by Jacobsen to approve the August 6, 2012 minutes.
Motion carried unanimously.
New Business
Reminders
• Spring 2013 Special Project Grant Applications are due September 19th at 5:00
p.m. at City Hall in the City Manager's Office.
• 2013/2014 Annual Grant Applications are due October 10th at 5:00 p.m. at City
Hall in the City Manager's Office.
Next Meeting
The Commission will next meet on October 1, 2012 at 5:00 p.m.
Adjournment
Commissioner Sutch moved to adjourn. The Commission adjourned at 5:35 p.m.
