COMMISSION ON THE ARTS
Council Chambers

Monday, April 1, 2013
Call to Order
The meeting was called to order at 5:00 pm by Chair Lewis. Members present were
Jennifer Brockpahler, Malinda Cooper, and Craig Zywicki. Andrew Zehr was absent.
Public Forum
There was no one present for the Public Forum. Chair Lewis indicated that Public
Forum would be a great time for performing arts groups to come and talk about their
upcoming events.
Approval of Minutes
It was moved by Zywicki to approve the minutes of the February 4, 2013. Lewis
seconded. Motion carried unanimously.
Fall 2013 Special Project Grant Workshop
Melissa Mundt, Assistant City Manager, reviewed the grant application process for
those in attendance and provided information about the grants to new members of the
Commission. Special Grants for Fall 2013 are due to the City Manager's Office by 5
p.m. on April 19th. The Octagon and Co-Motion Dance were represented at the
meeting and expressed an interest in applying for Fall 2013 Special Project Grants .
New Business
A. New Member Introductions
Brockpahler and Cooper introduced themselves to the Commission. Chair Lewis
thanked them for their interest in serving. He also expressed his sincere thanks to Chris
Sutch and Joel Jacobsen for their years of service to the Commission on the Arts. He
noted that they were very engaged and took their duties seriously on behalf of the
community.
Next Meeting
The next meeting will be on Monday, May 6, 2013 at 5:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers
at City Hall.
Cooper moved to adjourn. Seconded by Brockpahler. The meeting ended at 5:32 p.m.
