COMMISSION ON THE ARTS
Council Chambers

Monday, April 7, 2014
Call to Order
The meeting was called to order at 5:03 p.m. by Malinda Cooper. Members present were
Malinda Cooper, Andrew Zehr, Jennifer Brockpahler, and Steve Sullivan
Andrew Zehr moved to nominate Malinda Cooper as chair, seconded by Jennifer Brockpahler,
motion carried unanimously.
Connie Garnett arrived at 5:04 p.m.
Public Forum
ACAC invited everyone to attend an Arts Award Celebration on the 3rd floor of the Octagon on
April 27 at 1:30 p.m.
Approval of Minutes
It was moved by Commissioner Zehr and seconded by Commissioner Brockpahler to approve
the March 3, 2014 minutes. Motion carried unanimously.
New members were introduced by Malinda Cooper. Connie Garnett works at ISU in the Life
Science Department and has a passion in the fine Arts. Steve Sullivan works at Mary Greeley
and enjoys writing and presenting movie reviews for the local media. Existing members also
introduced themselve to the group: Jennifer Brockpahler works at Ames Labs, Malinda works in
the College of Design and Andy Zehr in the College of Agriculture.
New Business
A. Fall 2014 Special Project Grant Workshop - Mundt presented the criteria and process for the
Fall 2014 Special Grant process.
Upcoming Meetings
Fall 2014 application due: April 18, 2014
May 5, 2014 at 5:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers, City Hall
Fall Special Project Grant Hearings – During regular meeting on May 5, 2014
