COMMISSION ON THE ARTS

Monday, February 3, 2014
Call to Order
The meeting was called to order at 5:04 p.m. by Chair Fred Lewis. Members present were
Malinda Cooper, Andrew Zehr, Jennifer Brockpahler and Craig Zywicki.
Public Forum
No one spoke from the public.
Approval of Minutes
It was moved by Commissioner Zehr and seconded by Commissioner Brockpahler to approve
the December 2, 2013 minutes. Motion carried unanimously.
New Business
A. Review Special Project Grant Application - Fall 2014
There was a motion by Zywicki, seconded by Cooper to update the special project grant for
Fall 2014 to reflect the application dates, deadlines for submission and the funds available.
The motion carried unanimously.
B. Council Presentation on February 11, 2014
The Commission discussed the presentation of the annual grant funding recommendations
to the City Council at their budget meeting on February 11th. Chairperson Lewis stated he
would attend, as did Brockpahler and Cooper. The Committee also discussed sending an
invite to the Commission on the Arts grantees about participating in Ames 150 on the 4th.

Fall 2014 Special Project Grant application due: April 18, 2014
Fall Special Project Grant Hearings - During regular meeting on May 5, 2014
Chair Lewis declared the meeting adjourned at 5:32 p.m.
