Call to Order
The meeting was called to order at 5:00 p.m. by Chair Steve Sullivan. Members present were Jon
Foley, Connie Garnett, Jason Paull, and Tom Lockhart.
Public Forum
Jennifer Brockpahler announced the Ames Area Studio Tour. In addition, a reception event will also
be held at Alluvial Brewing.
It was announced that a Bonsai show will be held this weekend at Reiman Gardens.
Approval of September 12, 2016 Minutes
Moved by Jason, seconded by Tom, to approve the minutes of the September 12, 2016 meeting.
Motion carried unanimously.
Steve mentioned that at the last meeting, the Commission chose to explore revising the COTA grant
forms. He asked that those in the audience email City staff with any feedback regarding the forms.
Spring Special Project Grant Hearings
Andrea Gronau, of Worldly Goods, indicated that the store is celebrating its 30 th anniversary next
year. COTA funds would be used to support classes held by various artists.
Jennifer Brockpahler spoke regarding a professional development lecture series through the Ames
Community Arts Council. The series is intended to teach about social media, marketing, online
entrepreneurship, etc.

Connie moved the meeting be adjourned. Tom seconded. The meeting adjourned at 5:20 p.m.
