Minutes of the Special Meeting
May 9, 2012
The Ames Public Library (APL) Board of Trustees met in special session on
Wednesday, May 9, 2012, in the Dale H. Ross Board Room at 515 Douglas Avenue
with Bradley, Budd, Campbell, Luckett, Manus, Meier, Rawlins, Schill, and Stow in
attendance. Library Director Art Weeks was also present.
Call to Order: Board President Luckett called the meeting to order at 7:0 5 p.m.
New Business:
Discussion to evaluate the progress of the Director in meeting the goals specified at the
March board meeting
Library Director Weeks requested that the meeting be closed under the provisions of
Section 21.5(1)(i), Code of Iowa, pertaining to the evaluation of the professional
competency of an individual.
Moved by Stow, seconded by Schill, to go into closed session pursuant to
Section 21.5(1)(i), Code of Iowa, as requested.
Roll Call Vote: 9-0. (Voting aye: Bradley, Budd, Campbell, Luckett, Manus,
Meier, Rawlins, Schill, and Stow.) Motion approved unanimously.
The meeting was closed at 7:08 p.m. and the Library Director left the room. The Director
returned to the room at 8:25 p.m.
The meeting was re-opened at 8:40 p.m.
Adjournment: Moved by Manus, seconded by Budd, to adjourn at 8:42 p.m.
Motion approved unanimously.
The next regular meeting will be on Thursday, May 17, 2012, at 7:00 p.m., in the City
Council Chambers, 515 Clark Avenue.
