DISCUSSION OF THE CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PLAN WITH CITY MANAGER STEVE
SCHAINKER:
Abraham gave a brief overview of difference between Capital Projects and Operational Budget as
well as the funding sources for the projects. Schainker, City Manager, explained how the local option
sales tax is collected and disbursed.
Abraham reviewed items listed in the Capital Improvement Plan which covers the next 5 years.
Schainker added that he is recommending going with top option for the low-head dam modification
project. This project shows up in the CIP as a Water and Pollution Control project and is contingent
on securing grant funding.
Bierbaum asked about the citizen suggestion regarding adding a shelter at the dog park to provide
shade. Schainker indicated it may be possible to add it to the operational budget.
