AMES CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION

Call to Order
Chair, Kim Linduska, called the meeting of the Ames Civil Service Commission to order at 8:15am.
In attendance were Harold Pike, Co-Chair, Larry Conley, Commission Member, and Vicki Hillock,
Commission Clerk. Kim Linduska, Chair, and Bethany Ballou, Human Resources Director, were
brought in telephonically.
Approval of Minutes
Moved by Pike, seconded by Conley, to approve August 27, 2026, regular meeting minutes. Vote
on Motion: 3-0. Motion carried unanimously.
Certification of Entry-Level Applicants
Principal Clerk – Parks and Recreation Marcia Fritz 85
Hunter Widmer 80
Tara Gregg 77
Amanda Slay 73

** Indicates carryover from prior certified list
Moved by Linduska, seconded by Pike, to certify the above individuals to the Ames City Council
as Entry-Level Applicants. Vote on Motion: 3-0. Motion carried.
Request to Remove Name and Exhaust List for Electrical Engineer
Moved by Conley, seconded by Linduska, to remove name and exhaust list for Electrical Engineer
entry level certified list. Vote on motion: 3-0. Motion carried.
Request to Remove Name and Exhaust List for Mechanic Assistant - CyRide
Moved by Pike, seconded by Conley, to remove name and exhaust list for Mechanic Assistant -
CyRide entry level certified list. Vote on motion: 3-0. Motion carried.
Request to Exhaust List for Process Maintenance Worker
Moved by Linduska, seconded by Conley, to exhaust list for Process Maintenance Worker entry
level certified list. Vote on motion: 3-0. Motion carried.
Next Regular Meeting
Meeting will be held in-person on Thursday, October 22, 2026, at 8:15am in Council Chamber of
City Hall.
