RESOLUTION APPROVING CONTRACT RENEWAL
FOR THE PURCHASE OF OILS, LUBRICANTS, AND FLUID ANALYSIS
FOR THE FLEET SERVICES & TRANSIT DEPARTMENT,
FOR CITY OF AMES, IOWA
WHEREAS, on June 28, 2022, City Council awarded a contract for the purchase
of oils, lubricants, and fluid analysis to Diamond Oil Company of Des Moines, Iowa. The
initial contract period was from July 1, 2022, through June 30, 2023. The contract also
offered an optional annual renewal for up to four additional years for a total maximum of
five years. Combining oil and lubricant purchases allows Fleet Services and CyRide to
leverage the combined volumes to receive more favorable pricing.
IT IS THEREFORE RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, as
follows:
Section One. Award of contract is made as follows:
Heritage Petroleum, LLC, of Evansville, IN, (formerly Diamond Oil Company
of Des Moines, Iowa) for the one-year period from July 1, 2026, through
June 30, 2027, in an amount not-to-exceed $64,869.00.
Section Two. The City Manager and City Clerk are authorized to execute said
contract for and on behalf of the City of Ames, Iowa, and to affix the corporate seal
of the City thereto.
Section Three. All resolutions or orders or parts thereof in conflict herewith are
hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict.
