RESOLUTION APPROVING STREET AND PARKING LOT CLOSURE FOR
AMES REGIONAL ECONOMIC ALLIANCE
CAMPUSTOWN FALL CLASSIC
FOR THE CITY OF AMES, IOWA
WHEREAS, Ames Regional Economic Alliance (AREA) is planning to host the
Campustown Fall Classic Wednesday, October 14, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. The goal of the
event is to promote and showcase the Campustown Business District by partnering with
Wandering Greens Miniature Golf to set up miniature golf stations in Campustown; and,
WHEREAS, to facilitate this event, a closure of Campustown Lot Y and the
adjacent portion of Chamberlain Street, including 19 metered parking spaces, from 1 to
8 p.m. on October 14, 2026, (loss of $47.50 to the Parking Fund) has been requested;
and,
WHEREAS, event organizers have agreed to reimburse the City for the lost
parking meter funds in the amount of $47.50.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames,
Iowa, that the aforementioned street and parking lot closure for the AREA Campustown
Fall Classic on October 14, 2026, is hereby approved.
ADOPTED THIS 8th day of September, 2026.
