HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - Resolution approving closure of Pearle Ave, Burnett Ave, Kellogg Ave, and Clark Ave (all from Main St to 5th St), Main St from Pearle Ave to Duff Ave, and 5th st from Grand Ave to Clark Ave, from 5:30 p.m. to approximately 7:45 p.m.RESOLUTION NO. 26-553 RESOLUTION APPROVING STREET CLOSURES FOR AMES HIGH SCHOOL HOMECOMING PARADE FOR THE CITY OF AMES, IOWA WHEREAS, Ames High School has requested to hold its Homecoming Parade on Monday, September 21, 2026; and, WHEREAS, the parade will start on Main Street west of Clark Avenue and proceed east past Douglas Avenue to the CBD Lot entrance; and, WHEREAS, the parade entries will disperse from the CBD Parking Lot, and it will begin at 6:30 p.m. and last approximately 45 to 60 minutes; and, WHEREAS, to help facilitate this event, the Homecoming Committee asks that the City Council approve the following closures: Pearle Avenue, Burnett Avenue, Kellogg Avenue, and Clark Avenue (all from Main Street to 5th Street), Main Street from Pearle Avenue to Duff Avenue, and 5th Street from Grand Avenue to Clark Avenue, from 5:30 p.m. to approximately 7:45 p.m. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, that the aforementioned street closures for the Ames High School Homecoming Parade on September 21, 2026, are hereby approved.
