RESOLUTION APPROVING PARTIAL RELEASE OF RETAINAGE
FOR THE CONTRACT FOR BID PACKAGE 26-1
ELECTRICAL, COMMUNICATIONS, ELECTRONIC SAFETY & SECURITY
FOR THE FITCH FAMILY INDOOR AQUATIC CENTER
FOR THE CITY OF AMES, IOWA
WHEREAS, this contract is for Bid Package 26-1 Electrical, Communications,
Electronic Safety & Security for the Fitch Family Indoor Aquatic Center; and,
WHEREAS, on January 23, 2024, the City Council awarded the contract to Van
Maanen Electric, Inc., of Newton, IA, in the amount of $1,477,436; and,
WHEREAS, a request was received from Van Maanen Electric, Inc., of Newton,
IA, to reduce the amount of contract retainage to $14,000.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames,
Iowa, that the reduction of contract retainage for Bid Package 26-1 Electrical,
Communications, Electronic Safety & Security for the Fitch Family Indoor Aquatic Center
Project to $14,000 is hereby approved.
ADOPTED THIS 25th day of August, 2026.
