HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - ASSET Special Board Meeting July 10, 2025www.storycountyasset.org Special ASSET Board Minutes July 10, 2025 at 12 p.m. Zoom | Meeting ID: 898 1552 1527 | Passcode: 008507 In Attendance: Ashley Thompson, Pa Goldbeck, Jenny Schill, Amy D ombrowski, Sandra King, Emma Cassabaum, Karen Kiel-Rosser, Linda Hagedorn, Liz Zuercher, Biswa Das, Moriah Morgan, Erik Rolwes, Becky Harker, Beth Waage, Amy Shaw, Aidan Shervheim, Julia Nnoko, Ed Gillott CALL TO ORDER – Linda Hagedorn, Chair at 12:01pm PUBLIC FORUM None APPROVAL OF: May 15, 2025 ASSET Meeting Minutes Cassabaum made a motion to approve the May 15, 2025 minutes. The motion was seconded by Waage. Motion passed unanimously. NEW BUSINESS: Approval of Policies & Procedures Manual Harker made a motion to approve the Policies and Procedures Manual as presented. The motion was seconded by Dombrowski. Motion passed unanimously. New/Expanded Services: MICA Maternal, Child & Adolescent Health Programs Child & Adult Care Food Program The Arc Project Search All Aboard for Kids Summer Camp CCJ Re-entry Navigation & Support Hagedorn let the volunteers know that the ASSET Admin team reviewed the applications from the above agencies that had submitted applications for New/Expanded Services. She reported that the Admin Team voted to approve all of these services and they are welcome to submit a budget request. New ASSET Agency Applications Nevada Food at First Goldbeck informed the board that Nevada Food at First submitted all of their application materials and this specific organization is not affiliated with the Food at First in Ames. The Nevada Food and First uses a meal delivery model and has 13 partner sites where meals are distributed. The agency primarily serves eastern Story County. The ASSET Admin Team is recommending approval to accept them as an ASSET agency. Cassabaum made a motion to www.storycountyasset.org approve Nevada Food at First as a new ASSET agency, seconded by Gillott. Motion passed unanimously. Creative Counseling King let the board know that this agency is filling the gap to provide mental health services by interns that are overseen by licensed therapists. King stated that the ASSET Admin Team is recommending approval to accept them as an ASSET agency. Harker made a motion to approve Creative Counseling as a new ASSET agency , seconded by Das. Motion passed unanimously. Home Allies King let the Board know that Home Allies did apply last year and were denied due to not providing services in Story County for at least one year. King stated that they have reapplied this year and there are some concerns. There is not a Board in place to oversee the organization. She also reported that ASSET has received a complaint from another agency they received from a client reporting being yelled at by Olson and Olson us ing racial slurs. Olson did deny this allegation. King let the board know that the Admin Team is not recommending approval of this agency due to these concerns. Harker made a m otion to deny this application, seconded by Dombrowski. Discussion: Das asked if this denial is just for this year or permanently? King answered that it is only for this budget cycle. Gillott asked what will be communicated to the agency if they are denied. King replied that the reasons for denial would be included in the notification to the agency. Motion passed unanimously. ADDITIONAL ITEMS Gillott made a motion to adjourn, seconded by Waage. Motion passed unanimously.
