RESOLUTION APPROVING CONTRACT AND BOND FOR
2025/26 LOW POINT DRAINAGE IMPROVEMENTS PROGRAM
FOR THE CITY OF AMES, IOWA
WHEREAS, this City Council has heretofore determined it advisable and
necessary that certain improvements be constructed in the City of Ames, Iowa, such
project having been designated as 2025/26 Low Point Drainage Improvements Program;
and, pursuant to notice and hearing, bids were received on the 22nd day of July, 2026, as
called for in the detailed plans and specifications as prepared by Public Works
Department and filed with the City Clerk on the 17th day of June, 2026; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council has heretofore determined that the bid JC Midwest
Services, of St. Charles, IA, in the amount of $174,637 is the lowest and best bid
submitted for the construction of said project; and,
WHEREAS, the Contract in the form provided in said plans and specifications has
been executed by said contractor, and satisfactory performance bond has been filed by
said contractor.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames,
Iowa, as follows:
Section One. The Contract between the City of Ames, Iowa, JC Midwest Services,
of St. Charles, IA, in the amount of $174,637 dated the 28th day of July, 2026, for
the 2025/26 Low Point Drainage Improvements Program as provided for in the
detailed plans and specifications referred to in the preamble hereof, and the
performance bond of the said contractor with Merchants National Bonding, Inc., of
West Des Moines, IA, as surety thereon, in the amount of $174,637 filed in
connection therewith, be and the same are hereby approved.
Section Two. All resolutions or orders or parts thereof in conflict herewith are
hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict.
