On July 28, 2026, City Council awarded a contract to Cahoon Sales Inc, of Iowa
City, IA, for the purchase of the Generator Step-Up (GSU) Transformer for Ames
Municipal Energy Center. Cahoon Sales has requested that the purchase order
be made out to the manufacturer, GE Prolec Transformers, Inc., of Shreveport,
LA.
