RESOLUTION PROVIDING FOR THE AWARD OF CONTRACT
FOR THE GENERATOR STEP-UP (GSU) TRANSFORMER
FOR THE AMES MUNICIPAL ENERGY CENTER
FOR THE ELECTRIC SERVICES DEPARTMENT, CITY OF AMES, IOWA
WHEREAS, bids and proposals were received on the 24th day of April, 2026, for
the purchase of the Generator Step-Up (GSU) Transformer for the Ames Municipal
Energy Center for Electric Services Department, City of Ames, IA. Said bids have now
been carefully analyzed.
IT IS THEREFORE RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, IA, as
follows:
Section One. Award of contract is made as follows:
GE Prolec Transformers, Inc., of Shreveport, LA, for the Generator Step-Up
(GSU) Transformer in the amount of $2,470,416, inclusive of tax.
Section Two. The City Manager and City Clerk are authorized to execute said
contract for and on behalf of the City of Ames, IA, and to affix the corporate seal
of the City thereto.
Section Three. All resolutions or orders or parts thereof in conflict herewith are
hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict.
ADOPTED THIS 11th day of August, 2026.
