Meeting Minutes
Attending: Calli Sandahl, Cindy Hicks, Marina Kraeva, Nicki Mackey, Katrina Williams, Valerie

1.Call to order: 5:42 pm
2.Approval of December Minutes
a.Not all board members received the minutes, so we will approve in February.
3.Kosovo Mayor
a.Has been postponed until April or May, 2023.
4.Koshu NYE Cards
a.Students are still looking at all the cards sent from Japan.
b.Koshu students are VERY interested in a pen pal project, despite what the
teachers had said.
5.Koshu 30th Anniversary meeting
a.Leave Sunday, June 11 (arrive in Koshu June 12); Return Thursday, June 15 or 16
(arrive in Ames June 16 or 17)
b.Anticipated cost for individuals is expected to be the flight ; hotel is expected to
be paid for by the board (pending vote)
c.Cindy will ask about a student trip in 2024. Students are VERY excited to go
again.
6.Annual Newsletter
a.Everyone likes the newsletter. A few typo fixes, and a photo change were
discussed.
b.About 100 copies to print and mail. Will include return envelopes. Calli will
inventory items and let Cindy know if more envelopes, stamps, etc. need to be
purchased. Calli will work with Prints to get printed.
7.Other
a.Need to come up with some engagement plan for the students who missed out
on a trip to Japan due to COVID.
i.Idea to include them with the activities when the Japanese delegation
travels in September / October.
