Meeting Minutes
Attending: Marina Kraeva, Calli Sandahl, Cindy Hicks, Jen Malone, Michael Abrams
1.Call to order - 5:32 pm
2.Approval of Treasurer ’s Report - motion to approve Cindy, second Michael
3.Koshu Virtual Student Exchange Planning
a.Went very well, students were enthusiastic
b.Next time encourage students to share what they learned during the breakout sessions
4.Annual Meeting
a.Usually held in June, proposed to hold in July 2022, invite students and parents involved
in the exchange to join us. Approx 10 students
b.To be held July 28, 2022 - the fourth Thursday in July.
c.Held at Cafe Diem on the stage - if not enough room, possibly held at Noir on
Wednesday and Cafe Diem caters, or the Laughlin Level at the Chamber.
i.Cindy to look into all spaces and let the board know where the meeting will be
held.
ii.Cindy to send an RSVP to students to help get an estimate of who will be
attending.
5.Ames 30th Anniversary Exchange
a.Relationship with Koshu started in 1993
b.Possibly sending a small delegation there, or welcoming a delegation in Ames to renew
the relationship between our cities.
c.Backup is a virtual celebration with both mayors involved.
d.Would be great to involve past students if possible. If we go in person, then pulling
together a video of past students
6.Other?
a.No update on website yet - Cindy to reach out to Steven for an update.
b.A reminder for all board members to pay their membership dues – payment options are
included in the treasurer ’s report.
