Meeting Minutes

1. Call to Order - 5:32 pm (Cindy)
2. Approval of Minutes - motion to approve with the spelling correction Jen; 2nd Marina -
approved by all
3. Approval of Treasurer’s Report - motion to approve Cindy ; 2nd Michael - approved by all
4. Japan 2022 Updates / Virtual Student Partners
a. Still no news from Koshu
b. Yamanashi delegation in January has been cancelled
c. Yamanashi has hosted a virtual exchange between Iowa students and students in the
Yamanashi prefecture earlier this month. The news footage of the event:

d. Since Japan closed borders in response to new Covid-19 variant, and normally families
need 6-8 months to prepare for a trip, Cindy moved to put off the trip to Japan until
2023; 2nd Michael - approved by all
e. Cindy will connect with a person in Yamanashi government who can help
communicating with Koshu suggesting to
i. Postponing student delegation exchange until 2023
ii. Proposing to organize a series of virtual exchange events between students in
Koshu and AMS
f. Katrina will give Cindy contact information for school communication director and for
the instructor(s) teaching movie making course at AHS.
5. Newsletter Reminder
a. Everyone to send Calli content by December 31.
6. Other
a. Steven and Calli will prepare a mock-up of the new AIPCA website and discuss hosting
options
b. Cindy will contact Susan at City of Ames about updating the AIPCA page at
https://www.cityofames.org/ website
c. Jen will send the most recent new membership form to Cindy who will post the updated
form on the AIPCA page at https://www.cityofames.org/ website
