Meeting Minutes
Attending: Lisa Shen, Calli Sandahl, Marina Kraeva, Michael Abrams, Katrina Williams and several
families for the annual dinner.
I. Call to Order (Lisa Shen)
II. Approval of May Minutes (Lisa Shen) Approved by all
III. Approval of Treasurer’s Report (Jen Malone) Approved by all
V. Old Business/Updates
A. Installation of New board executives Cindy Hicks, President; Marina Kraeva, Vice President; Calli
Sandahl, Secretary. Approved by All
B. Koshu updates: as far as we know a delegation exchange will happen in 2022. Details have not been
shared between Koshu and Ames due to continuing COVID 19 concerns.
C. Tunisia updates : Lotfi Ben Othmane is in Haouaria, Tunisia currently. He is working to put together a virtual
meeting between their sister city committee and ours. Tom Sauer will be asked to be our Tunisia committee chair.
Lotfi, a city of Ames representative, and a board member will round out the committee.
VI. New Business:
A. Calendar project presentation – Katrina has started having kids develop artwork.
B. Very few people have paid membership this year.
C. The Iowa Sister States organization has asked Cindy Hicks if she is interested in serving on their board
as the committee chair for the Yamanashi Prefecture committee.
