Meeting Minutes for April 15, 2021 at 5:30PM
Present: Lisa Shen, Michael Abrams, Steven McKinney, Marina Kraeva, Jen Malone, Katrina Harden Williams
Welcome new City-appointed board members – new and old members presented themselves.
Approval of February 2021 Minutes: 1st Lisa Shen, 2nd Marina Kraeva, Passed by all
Treasurer’s Report:
Lisa Shen will cosign reimbursement request for $50 for the gift to Tomoko for translation services.

Old Business / Updates:
1. Annual meeting planning
• A shelter at the Moore Memorial park has been reserved for 6/17 6pm-9pm
• The plan is to provide picnic boxes from The Cafe (vegetarian and non-vegetarian options), which will
be covered by the new grant (overall $5800 have been requested: $2000 for Tunisia project, $2400
for tickets to Japan for delegation leaders and $1400 for the Koshu City relationship).
• Participants will bring their own beverage.
• Cindy will send invitations via email and request RSVP in which participants could s pecify meal
preference.
• Students that were supposed to travel to Japan in 2020 can report about their relationships with the
assigned host families.
• Announce at the annual meeting that former 6th and 7th-graders from the 2020 delegation still could
go to Japan, even though 7th-grader would be in High School in May 2022. Perhaps exclude new 6th
graders in 2022.
2. Lunar Calendar Project (Katrina)
• Students in Katrina’s home room can work on the Lunar Calendar; we can invite them to the
Annual meeting.
• Need to advertise Japan trips to students and their parents well in advance.
• There is a space at the Middle School that can be used to bring awareness about this sister cities
relationship.
• Can create a welcoming/billboarding committee to address these needs.
New Business:
New board executives election
• Lisa Shen’s term on AIPCA board is ending this year.
• Those interested in serving as president shall email Lisa.
• Jen Malone will continue serving as treasurer.
Next Meetings: May 20, Jun 17 annual retreat 6-8pm at Moore Memorial Park.
