Approval of August 2019 Minutes – first Bill Malone, second Karlai Thornburg. Passed unanimous
Approval of Treasurer’s Report – first Tom Sauer, second Karlai Thornburg. Passed unanimous
Kosovo sister city update: There was to be a breakfast meeting but the mayor could not make it and
could not make the rescheduled meeting either. A letter is in progress by Tom Sauer. We need to send
one person on the next sister state trip to Kosovo.
Bill moved to have Dyke and Cindy Hicks lead the Koshu youth delegation in June 2020, second by Tom
Sauer. Passed unanimous
Bill Malone moved to add Cindy Hicks to the board. Second by Diane Brotherson. Passed unanimous
Other notes:
Lisa Shen, Diane Brotherson, Tom Sauer, Cindy Hicks and Dyke Hicks will be at the orientation on
October 10 for the Koshu city youth trip.
We would like to make the selection of the students who will go on the trip by Thanksgiving.
Lisa Shen will contact Koshu City to get the new program leader’s name.
Lauren Booten at Ames Middle School has expressed interest in being a school representative on the
board.
Lisa Shen presented a letter asking for a delegate from Ames to go on the China delegation sister state
trip November 12-18
Lisa Shen advised we need to submit a budget to the city for next year by November 15.
