Minutes - Thursday, April 20, 2017 at 5:00pm
City Hall
Those present: Dianne Brotherson,Lisa Shen, Jen Malone, Judy Jones, Lana Pavlik, andHannah Moore
Call to Order by President Brotherson at 5:05
Approval of February minutes: Motion by Pavik, 2nd by Shen. Passed.
Approval of March minutes: One correction made that submitted by secretary rather than treasurer Motion by Moore, 2nd by Malone with correction. Passed.
Treasurers Report. Not much change in February. In March we received city reimbursement for our last expense receipts. The new balance is $8,678.31. This will fund plane tickets
for delegation leaders and the annual meeting event. We still have $1,554.28 from the current city grant that we can request from. This will also provide for the annual event.
Treasurer’s report approved. Motion Pavlik, 2nd Moore. Approved.
Old Business - update on the adult delegation. Changes that have occurred since the March minutes. Duane and Tommy Pitcher have dropped from the delegation. Christie and Katlyn Carr
have been added to the delegation. Travel dates are June 1 and June 8. The last delegate information session will be May 15.
Delegate information has been sent to Koshu for home assignments and their planning.
Board members attended the appreciation lunch held March 23. Jones, Brotherson, Shen, Malone.
New Business - Alex Akiyama with the Japan Outreach Initiative (JOI) who is currently staying at the Brotherson home gave an entertaining presentation. He covered Japanese traditions,
JOI program possibilities and other information relative to Japan and the sister city relationship. This organization is available to work with individuals and organizations for programs.
Annual meeting – A date of June 22 was discussed. Jones will check with City Church facility availability. It will begin at 6:00. As in the past, the Board will provide meat, chips,
buns and drink. Those attending will bring desserts and salads.
