Those present: Brotherson,Shen, J. Malone, Jones, Pavlik, Thornburg
Call to Order by President Brotherson at 7:05
New Business
Several people interested in the trip to Japan in June were in attendance and introduced themselves. Brotherson gave an overview of the trip to Koshu. Brotherson explained the selection
process. There will be 20 people allowed to go. More than 20 have shown interest. Questions were answered about the trip.
It was decided to meet March 2, 2017 to determine the delegation to Koshu June 1, 2017.
After those interested in the trip left, the meeting continued. Approval of January Minutes- Minutes were approved by voice vote.
Treasurer’s Report –Malone reported that the city had approved payment of $8,000 beginning July 1, 2017. Several bills have come in which have been paid: Hirta $606.25 and Hernandez
of snacks $41.08. Total bank amount 1/2/2016 was $5,761.34 with $2201.01.61 left in the city grant fund Malone reported that at total $110 had been paid in dues.
Thornburg moved we approve the treasurer’s report; 2nd by Pavlik. Report approved.

Those present: Brotherson, Shen, Jones, Pavlik, Thornburg, T. Sauer
This meeting was specifically called to determine who would be selected to go to Koshu in June. Since the group has never had to narrow down the list before, some criteria were set
in place:
Board members will have priority.
Since it is an adult trip, participants should be at least 18.
Must be Ames residents.
Participants have been previously active in AIPCA with dues, hosting, volunteered with events, unless completely new to AIPCA.
Shown interest in attending meeting and/or returning forms.
Those chosen were: Josh and Kara Tenney, Marina Kraeva, Duane & Tommy Pitcher, Cindy & Dyke Hicks, Tom & Pat Sauer (leaders of delegation), Nick and Olivia Sauer, Sue Bokhoven, Alta
& Jerry Byg, Lauren Frandsen, Michael McCool, Blue Maas, Karlai &Robert Thornburg, Tessa Myers
It may be possible to have alternate list in case someone can not make it. Tom Sauer will notify the participants and those not chosen. He will also coordinate plane tickets. Those
wishing to go before or stay after trip will need to purchase their own tickets.
There will be orientation meetings (probably 3) in April.
Meeting adjourned. Next meeting April 20, 2017.
