Minutes Thursday, October 20, 2016
Ames City Hall
Call to Order: time5:06 p.m.
Members present: Dianne Brotherson, Lana Pavlik, Judy Jones, Lisa Shen, and Karlai Thornburg
Approval of August Minutes: Motion to approve by Pavlik and seconded by Thornburg. Minutes approved.
Treasurer’s Report
Fiscal Year Summary: July 2014-June 2015Review of summary by Malone document. There was a reported bank total of $8,272.45 at the end of July
Grant proposal due Nov. 15 for funds for next year: currently being worked on
Old Business: Wrap Up from September Koshu City YouthExchange
Expense Report: Malone
There was a review of expenses yet to be paid. Among those to check are: Hirta, Middle school lunch, gifts and Des Moines day. Specific bills presented were for the farewell dinner
and Cy Ride passes (can we return some not used?) Follow up will be needed on other possible expenses.
Thank you notes: The board will meet at Brotherson’s on November 7, 2016 to complete thank you notes for all those involved with the Koshu visit.
Board Feedback
There was limited discussion on how the delegation visit went. All were in agreement it went well. There were a couple of suggestions for next time: possible bus rental (not Hirta),
make sure bus is air conditioned, better relationship at school.
