Board Meeting
February 18, 2016
Call to Order 5:03 PM
Members present:Dianne Brotherson, Lisa Shen, Jen Malone, Natalie Carran and Pat Sauer. Also in attendance Bill Malone and Bill Diesslin.
Meeting Minutes:Minutes from the Januarymeeting were presented. Carranmoved to accept the minutes. Second by Shen. Board approved the minutes.
Treasurer Report:Treasurer J. Malone presented new member dues from Holiday Letter added $480.00 to the AIPCA balance.
Old Business:a. By-laws and number of members – After following up with Bob Kindred Brotherson noted the clarification of city by-laws will show we will have at least have 9 members,
in lieu of the 12 previously reported.
b. 2016 Youth delegation to Koshu. B. Malone reported airline group rate tickets from United Airlines have been secured. Delegates are in the process of submitting medical forms and
getting ticket purchases finalized through United Airlines. B. Malone noted they are making preparations to discuss chaperone duties and expectations given typical and extenuating circumstances.
B. Malone noted they are working to clarify expectations for communication from delegation leaders to parents about the trip. Diesslin recounted past delegation trips have included a
Facebook page with posts made at departure and landing of each flight, and one post at the end of each day, with a brief summary. The next delegation meeting is scheduled for April 30th,
2016.c. Other –International World Friendship Day will not be celebrated.
New Business:a. J. Malone noted she is working to gather some information from a local artist Clark Colby, to see about commissioning the student delegation gift. This would be a photo
collage of images from Ames and Koshu. J. Malone will gather images from past delegates.
