Board Meeting
July 23, 2015
Call to Order 6:00 PM
Members present:Bill Diesslin, Dianne Brotherson, Jen Malone, Judy Jones, Lisa Shea.A new Board member appointed by the city, Lisa Shea was introduced.
Meeting Minutes:Minutes from the May meeting were presented. Diesslin moved to accept the minutes. Second by Shea. Board approved the minutes.
Treasurer Report:Malone reported that the current balance is $6,282.22. This amount does not include the city allocation reimbursement for the current year. Expenses for the current
year will be the Japanese adult delegation that will arrive in September 2015 and the student delegation to Japan, plane tickets and gifts in June 2016. Malone reports our treasury
is in healthy condition.
Old Business:Diesslin reported on the annual meeting. A slate of Board officers were presented and voted in. They are: Dianne Brotherson, President; Bill Diesslin, Vice President
(on condition that Natalie Carran will take this position ifappointed by the city); Judy Jones, Secretary; Jen Malone, Treasurer.Diesslin reported on the recent trip to Koshu by the
adult delegation. He reported that even though he has been to Koshu several times, this trip was especially excellent and the Koshu group went all out to show the group a fine time.
Fellow delegation travelers shared their experiences in Koshu. Diesslin exhibited a framed picture that was given to the city from Koshu. Diesslin reported he presented this gift
to the city council at their July meeting.
New Business:Discussion followed on planning for the upcoming Japanese delegation. They will be here September 18 through September 23. A planning meeting date was set for Aug 4
at 7:00 located at City hall. An effort will be made to include past adult delegation and current organization members to give input into the planning. Jones will email current association
members asking them to attend the planning meeting. Diesslin will review the database and update with latest delegation. Jones will send out bad email addresses from evite to get help
from for updates.Diesslin will provide names from help sign up sheets from the annual meeting.Brotherson will make an initial contact with Hirta for bus service for that week.
