HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - AIPCA Meeting Minutes from October 23, 2014Ames International Partner City Association Monthly Board Meeting 23 October 2014 Meeting called to order at 5:05 PM by Dianne Brotherson.
Members Present: Dianne Brotherson, Bill Diesslin, Jen Malone and Judy Jones A few minutes were taken to introduce Chris Moon, a new AIPCA member who is interested in serving on the board. No vote was taken on membership as the bylaws needed to be reviewed to see which position was best for her to fill.
Approval of Minutes: Minutes for the Board meeting held 21 August, 2014, were read and approved with no edits.
Treasurer Report: Jen Malone forgot her copies of the treasurer report so there was nothing to approve. Relying on memory, Jen reported that we spent about $3,000 on the last delegation visit. The largest expense was transportation. Account balance was about $1,500. Bill and Jen agreed to meet at City Hall to submit expenses for reimbursement.
Old Business: Jen and Dianne are filling out the City Grant Proposal for next year. Dianne asked the group for help developing a list of individuals who should receive a thank you note for helping support the September delegation from Koshu, Japan.
New Business:
Koshu has stated that they would like to host another adult delegation from Ames in June, 2015. They also suggested having an adult delegation from Koshu visit Ames in September, 2015. There was some discussion about how to advertise and who from the board would be interested in traveling. Koshu also expressed interest in obtaining another ALT from Ames. The Board will explore avenues to advertise this opportunity.
