Special Board Meeting
04 August 2014
Meeting called to order at 5:00 PM by Dianne Brotherson. Dianne Mentioned that the
regularly scheduled board meeting for 24 July 2014 failed to reach a quorum making this
meeting necessary.
Members Present:
Dianne Brotherson, Stacey Culhane, Bill Diesslin, Judy Jones, Jen Malone
Approval of Minutes:
The June Board meeting was the annual membership meeting and no minutes were taken.
Election results are included in this special meeting as a point of order.
Treasurer Report:
Duties of the Treasurer have not been formally transferred. Jen Malone will take over
duties soon (see below).
Elected Officers:
New officers were elected at the annual membership meeting held on 26 June 2014. Results
are as follows:
President: Dianne Brotherson – elected unopposed
Vice President: John Kolb – elected unopposed
Secretary: Bill Diesslin – elected unopposed
Treasurer: Jen Malone – elected unopposed
Old Business:
The youth delegation that recently returned from Koshu, Japan reported on their trip
during the annual membership meeting. Reports from all involved indicate that the trip
was very successful and enjoyed by all.
Motion from Judy Jones to pay Oakwood Road Church $50 for the use of their facility during
the annual membership meeting. Motion carried unanimously.
Motion from Bill Diesslin to pay one half of airfare or $1,000, whichever is less, for youth
delegation chaperones William Malone, Lavonne Rus and Linda Livingston. Motion carried
unanimously.
New Business:
The next youth delegation from Koshu, Japan to visit Ames, Iowa will arrive September 19th
and leave September 24th. There will be five adults and 20 students. Discussion was held to
begin planning for the visit.
Bill Diesslin indicated that since he is leaving the position of treasurer an internal audit of
the checkbook is required. Jen Malone, Dianne Brotherson and Tom Sauer will meet with
Bill Diesslin to conduct an audit soon.
Motion to adjourn by Judy Jones. Meeting adjourned by Dianne Brotherson at 5:50
