Thursday April 17, 2014
Present: Dianne Brotherson, Bill Diesslin, Jennifer Malone, John Kolb, Judy Jones, Lana
Pavlik, Bill Malone, and Tom Sauer
Absent: Carol Van Waardhuizen, Stacey Culhane, and Judy Jones
I. Call to Order (Dianne Brotherson)
II. Approval of March 2014 Minutes
III. Treasurer’s Report (Bill Diesslin)
- No activity. Balance of $6811.40. Noted that membership is $5 for students,
$15 for individuals, and $25 for families. Motion by Kolb, second by Pavlik,
report approved.
IV. Old Business/Updates
A. Report on World Friendship Day
- AIPCA exhibit well-received. Origami popular demonstration.
B. Youth Delegation to Koshu City in June
- Tentative airfare on United of $1539. Passenger list available soon then
will purchase tickets. Still working on passports for some students.
- Delegation is 17 students and 5 adults.
- One more meeting in May.
- Focus is on the cultural experience. Students will keep journals, take
photos of food, and social media for communication.
C. Hurst Application for AET
- No decision yet.
V. New Business
A. Annual Meeting
- Thurs. June 26 at Oakwood Road Church.
- Hickory Park cater meat, beans, and chips. Attendees can bring a side
dish. Jones will prepare Evite.
B. New Officer Positions
- Discussion regarding potential officers for next year (Brotherson –
President, Kolb – Vice President, Jennifer Malone – Treasurer, Diessline –
Secretary).
- Noted that Secretary, not Treasurer, should be keeping membership
list.
- Secretary encouraged to take on more of public relations activity.
VI. Adjourn at 5:55. Motion by Pavlik, second by Sauer.
