MEETING MINUTES
July 21, 2011

Members present: Judy Kemp; Bill Diesslin; Mark Swenson; Laura Lynn Boettger; John Kolb; Raveevun Pitcher
Members absent: Bob Kindred; Yonas Michael; Cappie Dobyns; Kathleen Ary; Sharlene Sullivan; Tom & Pat Sauer; Dianne Brotherson;

Guests present: Lynn Zwagerman (Czech Committee); Susan Gwiasda (for Bob Kindred)
Call to Order
The meeting was called to order by Presidential Candidate Judy Kemp at 5:00 PM.
Approval of Minutes
Minutes for the May 19, 2011 meeting were approved with a correction to the date. Boettger moved to approve minutes; motion passed unanimously.

Boettger moved to approve officers; motion passed unanimously.
Treasurer’s Report - Bill Diesslin, Treasurer
The July meeting was called to plan the Frydek Mystic visit in September; therefore, the Treasurer’s Annual Report will be given in the August meeting.
Updates
Annual Meeting at Dublin Bay (June 9, 2011) - Kemp handed out a sheet summarizing the AIPCA Annual Meeting. The summary was accepted with minor changes.
AET Update: Emily Hachmeister - Emily departs August 10, 2011. Her responsibilities will be different than those of Ellen or Jennie (who preceded her). She will be team-teaching with
a Japanese teacher at the same 3 middle schools as James. This is a return to what the AET’s originally did when hired, and allows them to be more active in the youth exchanges. Emily
left business cards with contact information.

At-Large Board replacement: Sharlene for Sandy? – Judy is still working on this and will update at the August meeting.
By-Laws - Have searched for digital copy with no luck. Boettger’s husband has software that will be able to convert digital scans into editable word documents, so she will look into
this.
Correspondence
Out-going AIPCA president, Diane Oppedal, sent a thank you to the Board for her gift.
FM Correspondence - Will cover under New Business, Frydek Mystic Visit
New Business
Frydek Mystic Visit - Will be using Hirta for transportation. Diane Oppedal and Lynn Zwagerman volunteered to be host family coordinators; they will be in charge of finding host families
to accommodate our guests. 2 have requested a hotel room - Kemp is looking into rates for rooms. One guest is wheelchair bound – George Beran has expressed interest in hosting him.
Kemp handed out a tentative schedule; 2 people are in charge of a day to make arrangements -

Saturday - Laura Lynn Boettger & Mark Swenson
Sunday - Host Family Day
Monday - Kathleen Ary, Cappie Dobyns, and Sharlene Sullivan (school visits); Laura Lynn Boettger after 4:00 PM
Tuesday - Raveevun Pitcher
Gift/Welcome Bags - Diane & Lynn will see what the Chamber Visitor Center has.
