Present: Cappie Dobyns, Judy Kemp, Laura Lynn Boettger, Diane Oppedal, Sharlene Sullivan, Carolyn Klaus
Absent: Kathleen Ary, Bill Diesslin, Yonas Michael, Sandi Hoenig, John Kolb, Oye Pitcher,
George Beran

Diane Oppedal presided, Carolyn Klaus, Acting Secretary
Secretary Report:
Minutes were approved as corrected: Yonas Michael was present at March meeting and spelling of first name. Cappie Dobyns is on the scholarship committee, not Kathleen Ary.
Treasurer’s Report:
No Treasurer’s Report
Emily Hachmeister was introduced as the new AET approved by the AIPCA. Paperwork will be sent to Koshu City, Japan for consideration of her employment.
Diane reported correspondence regarding the Youth and Adult Japan delegations. Both trips are cancelled for 2011 due to the earthquake, tsunami, and nuclear plant damage. We hope to
resume these exchanges in 2012. Carolyn Klaus reported that Travel and Transport will refund the deposit for the youth delegation. AIPCA will also refund the bus deposit from each delegate.
We will retain the membership from the delegates.
Diane will also extend an invitation to Frydek-Mistek for an exchange to Ames.
Diane reported the Red Cross donations from Ames to Japan were $4,000-$6,000. Red Cross donations from the entire USA total $150 million. She will send a letter to Koshu reporting
this amount.
Discussion regarding new board members: Diane Oppedal and Carolyn Klaus will be leaving the board at the end of their term. Diane will contact Sandi Hoenig regarding her continuation
on the Board. Several people were going to contact potential board members.
An audit committee was assigned to audit the books at the end of this year. Yonas Michael and John Kolb will be contacted to complete the audit.
The annual meeting will be June 9 on the patio at Dublin Bay. AIPCA will purchase the appetizers. Time: 5:00 to 7:00. Carolyn Klaus has made reservations and arrangements with Dublin
Bay. We will encourage the youth delegates to attend this event.
