RESOLUTION APPROVING PARTIAL RELEASE OF RETAINAGE
FOR THE CONTRACT FOR BID PACKAGE 22-1 PLUMBING & HVAC WORK
FOR THE FITCH FAMILY INDOOR AQUATIC CENTER
FOR THE CITY OF AMES, IOWA
WHEREAS, this contract is for Bid Package 22-1 Plumbing and HVAC Work for
the Fitch Family Indoor Aquatic Center; and,
WHEREAS, on January 23, 2024, the City Council awarded the contract to
Brockway Mechanical & Roofing Co, Inc., of Des Moines, IA, in the amount of $4,184,363;
and,
WHEREAS, a request was received from Brockway Mechanical & Roofing Co,
Inc., of Des Moines, IA, to reduce the amount of contract retainage to $20,000.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames,
Iowa, that the reduction of contract retainage for Bid Package 22-1 Plumbing and HVAC
Work for the Fitch Family Indoor Aquatic Center Project to $20,000 is hereby approved.
ADOPTED THIS 28th day of July, 2026.
