HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - Resolution approving the water monitoring services agreement for FY 2026/27 water monitoring with Prairie Rivers of Iowa, of Ames, IARESOLUTION NO. 26-469 RESOLUTION APPROVING PROFESSIONAL SERVICES AGREEMENT FOR STORY COUNTY WATER MONITORING AND INTERPRETATION PLAN, 2021-2030 FOR THE PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT FOR THE CITY OF AMES, IOWA WHEREAS, the Story County Water Monitoring & Interpretation Plan 2021-2030 is now completing its sixth year. The purpose of the plan is to collect and analyze water sampling data, to increase residents' knowledge and understandings, identify problems in the watersheds within Story County, and to support and improve water quality; and, WHEREAS, since the plan's inception, the City of Ames has contracted with Prairie Rivers of Iowa, RC & D, of Ames, Iowa (PRI) to assist in development and implementation of the plan. Other partners also contribute funding for implementation of the plan; and, WHEREAS, the proposed contract is for the period from July 1, 2026, through June 30, 2027. The contract amount is $59,000, an increase of $2,260 (approximately 4.0%) over the FY 2025/26 agreement. The increase reflects annual program costs and continued implementation of the monitoring plan. Funding for this agreement is programmed within the Public Works operating and Water Pollution Control watershed- based nutrient reduction CIP budgets. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, that the Professional Services Agreement for the Story County Water Monitoring and Interpretation Plan, 2021-2030, with Prairie Rivers of Iowa, RC & D of Ames, Iowa, billed monthly and not to exceed $59,000 is hereby approved.
