RESOLUTION APPROVING THE
FFY 2027-2030 TRANSPORTATION IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM
FOR THE AMES AREA METROPOLITAN PLANNING ORGANIZATION
WHEREAS, the Ames Area Metropolitan Planning Organization was officially
designated as the metropolitan planning organization (MPO) of the Ames urbanized area
by the Governor of Iowa in March 2003; and
WHEREAS, the Iowa Department of Transportation requires a yearly
Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) be developed by all Iowa MPOs to act as a
four-year program of priority transportation improvements drawn from each MPO’s
Metropolitan Transportation Plan; and
WHEREAS, the FFY 2027-2030 TIP includes both Iowa DOT and locally
sponsored regional transportation projects which will utilize federal funding or are
regionally significant; and
WHEREAS, the FY 2026-2029 TIP has been developed with input from regional
stakeholders, member agencies, the public, the Iowa Department of Transportation, the
Federal Highway Administration, and the Federal Transit Administration.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Ames Area Metropolitan
Planning Organization hereby approves the FFY 2027-2030 Transportation
Improvement Program.
