RESOLUTION APPROVING CONTRACT RENEWAL
FOR ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT SERVICES
FOR THE CITY MANAGER’S OFFICE, CITY OF AMES, IOWA
WHEREAS, the City of Ames purchases services from the Ames Regional
Economic Alliance for certain economic development -related services in lieu of hiring
additional permanent staff and expending additional City funds to accomplish these
services.
IT IS THEREFORE RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, as
follows:
Section One. Award of contract is made as follows:
Ames Regional Economic Alliance, of Ames, IA, in the following dollar amounts for
the following services:
• $15,000 (Hotel/Motel Tax Fund) for Workforce Development services
• $63,500 (Local Option Sales Tax Fund) for Ames Main Street programming
• $46,000 (Local Option Sales Tax Fund) for Campustown programming
• $12,000 (Local Option Sales Tax Fund) for Main Street Farmers Market
• $10,000 (General Fund) for Main Street Parklet Pilot Initiative
Section Two. The City Manager and City Clerk are authorized to execute said
contract for and on behalf of the City of Ames, Iowa, and to affix the corporate seal
of the City thereto.
Section Three. All resolutions or orders or parts thereof in conflict herewith are
hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict.
