HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - Resolution approving contract & bond for the 13th & Grand Power Line relocation projectRESOLUTION NO. 26-369 RESOLUTION APPROVING CONTRACT AND BOND FOR CONSTRUCTION OF 13TH AND GRAND POWER LINE RELOCATION PROJECT FOR THE CITY OF AMES, IOWA WHEREAS, this City Council has heretofore determined it advisable and necessary that certain improvements be constructed in the City of Ames, Iowa, such project having been designated as the 13th and Grand Power Line Relocation Project; and, pursuant to notice and hearing, bids were received on the 29th day of April, 2026, as called for in the detailed plans and specifications as prepared by the Electric Services Department and filed with the City Clerk on the 24th day of March, 2026; and, WHEREAS, the City Council has heretofore determined that the bid of IES Commercial, Inc., of Holdrege, NE, in the amount of $527,595.56 is the lowest and best bid submitted for the construction of said project; and, WHEREAS, the Contract in the form provided in said plans and specifications has been executed by said contractor, and satisfactory performance bond has been filed by said contractor. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, as follows: Section One. The Contract between the City of Ames, Iowa, and IES Commercial, Inc., of Holdrege, NE, in the amount of $527,595.56 dated the 12th day of May, for the 13th and Grand Power Line Relocation Project as provided for in the detailed plans and specifications referred to in the preamble hereof, and the performance bond of the said contractor with Everest Reinsurance Company, of Liberty Corner, NJ, as surety thereon, in the amount of $527,595.56 filed in connection therewith, be and the same are hereby approved. Section Two. All resolutions or order or parts thereof in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict.
