HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - Resolution approving contract renewal with MPW Industrial Water Service for bottle exchange program for power plant July 1, 2026 - June 30, 2027RESOLUTION NO. 26-359 RESOLUTION APPROVING CONTRACT RENEWAL FOR BOTTLE EXCHANGE PROGRAM AND RELATED SERVICES FOR POWER PLANT FOR THE ELECTRIC SERVICES DEPARTMENT, CITY OF AMES, IOWA WHEREAS, this contract consists of providing a bottle exchange service for a two- bed demineralizer, strong acid cation and a strong base anion, and a bottle exchange for mix-bed demineralizer. In addition, this contract requires a mobile purification system to batch-fill a 265,000-gallon deionized water tank for water injection at the combustion turbine site, as well as a final mixed-bed polisher for that unit. The contractor must provide this service on a 24/7 schedule, including holidays. IT IS THEREFORE RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, as follows: Section One. Award of contract is made as follows: MPW Industrial Water Services Inc., of Hebron, OH, for the Bottle Exchange Program and Related Services for the Power Plant for the one year period from July 1, 2026, through June 30, 2027, in an amount not -to-exceed $90,000. Funds shall be expended only as work is required and in accordance with approved invoices. Section Two. The City Manager and City Clerk are authorized to execute said contract for and on behalf of the City of Ames, Iowa, and to affix the corporate seal of the City thereto. Section Three. All resolutions or orders or parts thereof in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict.
