RESOLUTION APPROVING CONTRACT RENEWAL
FOR PROPERTY INSURANCE COVERAGE
FOR THE HUMAN RESOURCES DEPARTMENT, CITY OF AMES, IOWA
WHEREAS, Willis Towers Watson (WTW) reviews the City's coverage annually to
ensure its properties are properly insured. When appropriate WTW takes the City's
coverage to market. This year it was determined that retaining the two incumbent insurers
was the most economical. The insurance renewal provides adequate coverage of the
City's assets and at a lower than expected cost.
IT IS THEREFORE RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, as
follows:
Section One. Award of contract is made as follows:
Willis of Greater Kansas, Inc., for Property Insurance Coverage for July 1,
2026, through June 30, 2027, in the amount of $974,083.
Section Two. The City Manager and City Clerk are authorized to execute said
contract for and on behalf of the City of Ames, Iowa, and to affix the corporate seal
of the City thereto.
Section Three. All resolutions or orders or parts thereof in conflict herewith are
hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict.
ADOPTED THIS 9th day of June, 2026.
