RESOLUTION PROVIDING FOR THE AWARD OF CONTRACT
FOR THE PURCHASE OF LIQUID SODIUM HYPOCHLORITE
FOR THE ELECTRIC SERVICES AND WATER & POLLUTION CONTROL
DEPARTMENTS, CITY OF AMES, IOWA
WHEREAS, bids and proposals were received on the 8th day of May, 2026, for the
purchase of liquid sodium hypochlorite for the Electric Services and Water & Pollution
Control Departments, City of Ames, Iowa. Said bids have now been carefully analyzed.
IT IS THEREFORE RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, as
follows:
Section One. Award of contract is made as follows:
Rowell Chemical Corporation, of Hinsdale, IL, for the purchase of liquid
sodium hypochlorite in FY 2026/27 for the Water Plant and Power Plant in
the amount of $1.72 per gallon.
Section Two. The City Manager and City Clerk are authorized to execute said
contract for and on behalf of the City of Ames, Iowa, and to affix the corporate seal
of the City thereto.
Section Three. All resolutions or orders or parts thereof in conflict herewith are
hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict.
ADOPTED THIS 26th day of May, 2026.
