HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - Resolution approving Contract & Bond for 2025/26 ROW Restoration ProgramRESOLUTION NO. 26-270 RESOLUTION APPROVING CONTRACT AND BOND FOR CONSTRUCTION OF THE 2025/26 RIGHT-OF-WAY RESTORATION PROGRAM FOR THE CITY OF AMES, IOWA WHEREAS, this City Council has heretofore determined it advisable and necessary that certain improvements be constructed in the City of Ames, Iowa, such project having been designated as the 2025/26 Right-of-Way Restoration Program; and, pursuant to notice and hearing, bids were received on the 8th day of April, 2026, as called for in the detailed plans and specifications as prepared by the Public Works Department and filed with the City Clerk on the 17th day of March, 2026; and, WHEREAS, the City Council has heretofore determined that the bid of Steven's Erosion Control of Des Moines, IA, in the amount of $166,264.49 is the lowest and best bid submitted for the construction of said project; and, WHEREAS, the Contract in the form provided in said plans and specifications has been executed by said contractor, and satisfactory performance bond has been filed by said contractor. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, as follows: Section One. The Contract between the City of Ames, Iowa, and Steven's Erosion Control of Des Moines, IA, in the amount of $166,264.49 dated the 14th day of April 2026, for the 2025/26 Right-of-Way Restoration Program as provided for in the detailed plans and specifications referred to in the preamble hereof, and the performance bond of the said contractor with Westfield Insurance Company, of Wes Des Moines, IA, as surety thereon, in the amount of $166,264.49 filed in connection therewith, be and the same are hereby approved. Section Two. All resolutions or order or parts thereof in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict.
