RESOLUTION SETTING DATE OF PUBLIC HEARING ON A REVOCABLE LEASE
OPTION TO DEVELOP, INSTALL, AND OPERATE SOLAR FACILITIES
ON APPROXIMATELY 165 ACRES LOCATED ON PORTIONS OF PROPERTIES
AT THE AMES MUNICIPAL AIRPORT
FOR THE CITY OF AMES, IOWA
WHEREAS, the City of Ames is considering the development of a solar farm at the
Ames Municipal Airport. The project would require that the City lease portions of the
Airport property to Ames Greenfield Development, LLC (a subsidiary of Recall Strategies)
for the evaluation, installation, and operation of the solar project facilities on approximately
165 acres located on portions of the following properties at the Ames Municipal Airport:
• 405 Airport Road
• 600 Airport Road
• 623 Airport Road
• 698 Airport Road
• 816 Airport Road
• 2540 Airport Drive
• 3115 South Duff Avenue Rear
• 3300 South Riverside Drive
• 3800 South Riverside Drive
• 3800 South Riverside Drive Rear
• 4200 South Riverside Drive
• 4200 South Riverside Drive Rear
• 4600 South Riverside Drive
• 4600 South Riverside Drive Rear
• 4900 South Riverside Drive
• 5000 South Riverside Drive
WHEREAS, pursuant to Iowa Code section 364.7, it is necessary to provide notice
of and hold a public hearing regarding the proposal of the City to dispose of its interest in
this real property; and,
WHEREAS, following notice and public hearing, the City will determine if this
proposal is appropriate.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF AMES, IOWA, THAT:
1. Pursuant to Iowa Code section 364.7, publication of notice regarding the
proposed vacation of a pedestrian easement and establishing a public
hearing date regarding the proposal is required.
2. The public hearing regarding the proposal to shall be held on the 12th day
of May, 2025, at 6:00 p.m.
3. The City Clerk is hereby directed to provide notice of the public hearing as
required by Iowa Code section 362.3.
