RESOLUTION SETTING DATE OF PUBLIC HEARING ON THE PROPOSITION OF
ENTERING INTO A PRAIRIEVIEW INDUSTRIAL SUBSTATION LINE TAP
CONSTRUCTION AGREEMENT AND A TRANSMISSION FACILITY
JOINT OWNERSHIP AGREEMENT
FOR THE CITY OF AMES, IOWA
WHEREAS, the City of Ames is considering entering into a Prairieview Industrial
Substation Line Tap Construction Agreement and a Transmission Facility Joint
Ownership Agreement with ITC Midwest, LLC and entering into a Transmission
Interconnection Agreement by and among ITC Midwest, LLC, the City of Ames and
Midcontinent Independent System Operator, Inc.; and,
WHEREAS, pursuant to Iowa Code section 390.3 and Section 73A.3, it is
necessary to provide notice of and hold a public hearing . Interested objectors may appeal
from the decision as provided in Iowa Code section 73A.4; and,
WHEREAS, following notice and public hearing, the City will determine if this
proposal is appropriate.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF AMES, IOWA, THAT:
1. Pursuant to Iowa Code section 390.3 and Section 73A.3, publication of
notice regarding the proposed action and establishing a public hearing date
regarding the proposal is required.
2. The public hearing regarding the proposal to consider take final action on
the matter of entering into the Prairieview Industrial Substation Line Tap
Construction Agreement (the “Construction Agreement”) and Transmission
Facility Joint Ownership Agreement (the “Joint Ownership Agreement”)
between ITC Midwest, LLC and the City of Ames, Iowa, and entering into a
Transmission Interconnection Agreement (the “Interconnection
Agreement”) by and among ITC Midwest, LLC, the City of Ames, Iowa, and
Midcontinent Independent System Operator, Inc. shall be held on the 12th
day of May, 2025, at 6:00 p.m.
3. The City Clerk is hereby directed to provide notice of the public hearing as
required by Iowa Code section 390.3 and Section 73A.3.
ADOPTED THIS 28th day of April, 2026.
