HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - Resolution approving 2026/27 Annual Action Plan Projects for Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and HOME ProgramsRESOLUTION NO. 26-236 RESOLUTION APPROVING 2026-27 PROPOSED ANNUAL ACTION PLAN PROJECTS FOR COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT (CDBG) AND HOME PROGRAMS FOR THE CITY OF AMES, IOWA WHEREAS, as part of the City’s approved 2024-29 Five-Year Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and HOME Consolidated Plan, the City must submit an Annual Action Plan that outlines the proposed activities and budget to be implemented in the upcoming year. Action Plan activities should be consistent with the goals and priorities identified in the Consolidated Plan; and, WHEREAS, the Consolidated Plan goals address support for creating and sustaining affordable housing for low-and moderate-income households and for non-low- and moderate-income households, with specified outcomes related to each goal; and, WHEREAS, Public input was obtained through two in-person events. On March 25, 2026, City staff hosted two in-person public forums to gather input regarding possible projects for consideration. Nine individuals attended the in-person forums. Staff received no comments regarding the proposed FY 2026-27 action plan activities; and, WHEREAS, now that the FY 2026-27 allocations have been announced, the draft of the City’s Annual Action Plan can be prepared for the required 30-day public comment period. All of the projects will continue to help address the needs identified in the 2024 - 29 Five-Year Consolidated Plan. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, that the proposed draft 2026-27 Annual Action Plan Program Projects and estimated budget in connection with the City’s Community Development Block Grant and HOME Programs are hereby approved.
