HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - Resolution awarding 2028 STBG fund for the E 13th Street EB Between 1-35 RampsRESOLUTION NO. 26-197 RESOLUTION AWARDING FFY 2028 STBG FUNDS TO THE CITY OF AMES FOR THE E. 13TH STREET EB BETWEEN I-35 RAMPS; LINCOLN WAY/DAYTON AVE INTERSECTION RECONSTRUCTION PROJECT FOR THE AMES AREA METROPOLITAN PLANNING ORGANIZATION WHEREAS, the Ames Area Metropolitan Planning Organization (AAMPO) was officially designated as the metropolitan planning organization (MPO) of the Ames urbanized area by the Governor of Iowa in March 2003; and, WHEREAS, all MPOs are allocated Surface Transportation Block Grant (STBG) formula funds by the Iowa DOT and U.S. DOT per federal law; and, WHEREAS, all MPOs are responsible for awarding STBG funds to regional transportation projects which are consistent with the latest adopted Metropolitan Transportation Plan and by following a competitive application process; and, WHEREAS, the City of Ames submitted a project application seeking STBG funds in response to the AAMPO’s recently published Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO); and, WHEREAS, the project described in the submitted application was found to be consistent with the AAMPO’s latest adopted Metropolitan Transportation Plan ; and, WHEREAS, the project was recommended for the full award of requested STBG funds based on a competitive review and scoring process and projected available STBG funds. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Ames Area Metropolitan Planning Organization hereby awards $864,000 in STBG funds for federal fiscal year (FFY) 2028 to the City of Ames for the following roadway project: • E. 13th Street Eastbound (between I-35 ramps) and Lincoln Way/Dayton Avenue Intersection Reconstruction ADOPTED THIS 24th day of March 2026. _______________________________ __________________________ Renee Hall, City Clerk John A.
