HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - Resolution approving plans & specifications and awarding contract for Bid Package 33-1 for R3CRESOLUTION NO. 26-185 RESOLUTION APPROVING FINAL PLANS, SPECIFICATIONS AND FORM OF CONTRACT AND AWARDING A CONTRACT FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF BID PACKAGE 33-1 – SITE UTILITY WORK FOR THE RESOURCE RECOVERY AND RECYCLING CAMPUS FOR THE CITY OF AMES, IOWA WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, has heretofore approved plans, specifications, and form of contract for the construction of the Resource Recovery and Recycling Campus Bid Package 33-1 – Site Utility Work as described in Resolution No. 26-059 adopted on the 27th day of January, 2026; and, WHEREAS, a hearing has been held on objections to the proposed plans, specifications, and form of contract, and to the cost of the proposed improvement in said City, and all objections thereto have been overruled. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, that the plans, specifications, and form of contract referred to in the preamble hereof be and the same are hereby finally approved, and the prior action of the Council approvin g them is hereby finally confirmed; and, WHEREAS, the Council did publish a Notice to Bidders for the construction of said work; and, WHEREAS, all bids have been received and considered. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, as follows: Section One. It is hereby found and determined that the bid of On Track Construction LLC, of Nevada, IA, in the amount of $723,370 is the lowest and best bid for said work, and the same is hereby accepted. Section Two. The Mayor and Clerk are hereby authorized and directed to execute a contract with the said company in accordance with the company’s proposal and the Notice to Bidders, and in accordance with the plans and specifications heretofore adopted and approved. Section Three. All bids or proposals received are hereby directed to be filed. Section Four. All other bids, other than that accepted, are hereby rejected, and the Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to return certified checks or bid bonds accompanying such unsuccessful bids and take receipts therefore to be filed in the Clerk’s office. Section Five. All resolutions or orders or parts thereof in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict.
