RESOLUTION PROVIDING FOR THE AWARD OF CONTRACT
FOR THE PURCHASE OF SIX 40' HEAVY-DUTY BUSES
FOR THE TRANSIT DEPARTMENT, CITY OF AMES, IOWA
WHEREAS, purchasing options were evaluated from the statewide cooperative
purchasing schedule, for the purchase of six 40’ heavy-duty diesel buses for the Transit
Department, City of Ames, Iowa. Said schedule has now been carefully analyzed and the
Washington State cooperative purchasing schedule was identified as the most favorable
option.
IT IS THEREFORE RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, as
follows:
Section One. Award of contract is made as follows:
Gillig LLC of Livermore, California, for the purchase of six 40’ heavy-duty
diesel buses in the amount of $4,361,466, contingent upon award of the
2026 STBG grant with the Federal Transit Administration.
Section Two. The City Manager and City Clerk are authorized to execute said
contract for and on behalf of the City of Ames, Iowa, and to affix the corporate seal
of the City thereto.
Section Three. All resolutions or orders or parts thereof in conflict herewith are
hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict.
